Use of Designed Experiments in Chromatography February 5-7, 2002 ...
Tentative Agenda: Day One: Day Two: Day Three: For class information, contact Jan Jopke, at (952) 949-2518. To register for the course, complete the website registration form and send it with a check for $(contact Jan), payable to the Minnesota Chromatography Forum. Note: Meet the Instructor Lars A. Pekay, Ph.D., is currently the Quality & Regulatory Manager for General Mills in Lodi, CA. He received his B.S. in Chemistry from Wake Forest University in North Carolina and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from The Ohio State University. His graduate work focused on the development and characterization of sulfur specific detectors for supercritical fluid chromatography to monitor the effectiveness of a proprietary method of coal desulfurization. During his tenure at General Mills, Lars has worked on both HPLC and GC method development, extensive training on both analytical methods and applied statistics, vitamin processing research, and on the development of a certification program to decrease analytical variability. He has been heavily involved with the use of Designed Experiments, both for analytical applications and as applied to production issues (during the past year, using a series of DOEs, production efficiency on a start-up line in Lodi went from 65% to 98%). He is also an American Society of Quality Control Certified Auditor and has served on the Minnesota Chromatography Forum board and symposium committees and has served as the MCF president in the past. |
