Chromatography Forum May 18-20, 1999 The 1999 Spring Symposium was held at the Earle Brown Heritage Center on May 18-20. With 293 attendees, 91 exhibitors, and 35 vendor booths this has been another successful event. 1999 Palmer Award Winner Steve Pierson The Palmer Award was created to recognize and to encourage the art and science of chromatography, in particular as it is related to the membership of the MCF. It is given to those individuals whose professional as well as scientific accomplishments have fostered progress in chromatography. Each year this prestigious award is presented at the MCF Spring Symposium. Steve Pierson was recognized with the 1999 MCF Palmer Award. Steve has been very active in the MCF. He served on the board for several years and was the MCF president in 1986-1987. He has also served on the symposium committee. The company he founded, Chrom Tech, has been an influential resource to chromatographers throughout the region. Steve has also served as a direct chromatographic resource for many MCF members helping with tough chromatographic problems. The MCF congratulates Steve on this well deserved honor! Undergraduate Award Winner Congratulations to Kevin Peterson from St. John's University. Kevin was chosen to be the recipient of the MCF Undergraduate Award for 1999. The topic of his research is: "Determination of the Genetic Variation in Goldenrod Antifeedant Natural Products." |
